Despite its abandonment, remnants of its vibrant past, including a long counter and a mirror ball, still adorned the space, evoking nostalgia and potential for reinvention.
Conceptualizing the Desk
Recognizing the pivotal role of desks in office environments, where myriad tasks are accomplished, the architects envisioned a multifunctional workstation that transcends conventional boundaries. In conceptualizing the desk, they sought to redefine it as a personalized workspace, a communal gathering spot, and even a self-contained environment within the office.
Innovative Design Approach
Upon dismantling the existing ceiling and flooring, a surprising discovery emerged: an inverted beam protruding from the floor, standing at a height of 280 centimeters. Leveraging this structural element, the architects ingeniously repurposed it as the foundation for the desk, enclosing its top to form a compact room suspended within the larger space. This intimate enclosure serves dual purposes, functioning as both an individual workstation and a communal area for collaboration and respite.

Situated within a district undergoing rapid transformation from a nightlife hub to a burgeoning commercial center, the office design aimed to preserve the area’s unique character and historical significance.
