Situated in the vibrant Shibuya City of Tokyo, TRUNK (HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK, crafted by Keiji Ashizawa Design, stands as a distinctive oasis amidst the bustling metropolis of Japan. Boasting 25 guest rooms, including 5 suites, alongside a rooftop lounge, and a ground-floor restaurant, this boutique hotel offers a serene escape overlooking the verdant expanse of Yoyogi Park.
A Vision Unveiled
The journey of TRUNK (HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK commenced in the summer of 2019, with a vision to create a space that embodies the essence of TRUNK while embracing the natural beauty of its surroundings. Nestled in the tranquil neighborhood of Tomigaya, the hotel epitomizes the concept of “Urban Recharge,” catering to both local residents and global travelers seeking respite in the heart of the city.
Architectural Harmony
At the core of the hotel’s design is a seamless integration of architecture and nature. Utilizing concrete for both exterior and interior walls, the building exudes a sense of tranquility, accentuated by its modular construction and raw aesthetic. The balcony, a prominent feature of the hotel, offers a visual connection to the park, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces.
A Collaborative Endeavor
Collaborating with Norm Architects, Keiji Ashizawa Design curated bespoke furniture and fixtures, infusing each space with a blend of Japanese craftsmanship and contemporary design. From custom lounge chairs to handcrafted wall lamps, every detail reflects a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.
A Labor of Love
The realization of TRUNK (HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK was a collaborative effort involving a diverse team of architects, designers, and craftsmen. Through meticulous planning and unwavering dedication, the hotel finally opened its doors in September 2023, inviting guests to experience its unique charm and hospitality. As visitors embark on their journey, they are encouraged to explore and discover whether TRUNK truly embodies the essence of a “one and only” retreat in Tokyo.
