Originally a grand residence, the apartment underwent a transformative renovation led by João Tiago Aguiar Arquitectos, aimed at optimizing space and restoring its former glory.

Despite a previous rehabilitation about 15 years ago, the apartment had lost some of its original charm over time. However, this presented a compelling challenge and opportunity for the architects—to preserve and accentuate the apartment’s architectural heritage while meeting the needs of its new occupants.

The focal point of the renovation was to reclaim the apartment’s old-world charm, which involved uncovering and restoring hidden treasures such as the scullery and magnificent stained glass windows overlooking a central interior patio.
